OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — The Oklahoma City Thunder smothered the Washington Wizards on Saturday night, winning 114-75 at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City and holding their visitors to the fewest points any NBA team has scored this season.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander needed only three quarters to score 30 points before resting through the fourth. Jared McCain added 19, and rookie center Aday Mara posted 18 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots.

Oklahoma City, now 8-2, has gone 5-2 since long-term injuries took Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace out of the starting lineup.

Washington opened by missing its first seven shots and trailed 25-19 after one quarter and 57-36 at the break. The Wizards hit 29 of 98 field goal tries for the night and connected on just 7 of 43 from three-point range.

The Thunder pushed the margin to 90-59 after three quarters and later stretched it to 40 points. Rookie Bennett Stirtz hit the three that made it 90-59, and newcomer Micah Peavy scored the basket that pushed the lead to 109-69. Both clubs were coming off NBA Cup games the night before, and the Thunder shot 50% in the first half. Hall of Famer Allen Iverson watched from a courtside seat.

AJ Dybantsa scored 19 for Washington and Alex Sarr had 15 points with 14 rebounds. Trae Young, a former Norman High and University of Oklahoma standout, went 1 for 6 from the floor for four points. The Wizards, missing Anthony Davis with an ankle injury, fell to 4-6 overall with a third straight loss.
